Chicago-Style Italian Sausage and Pepper Deep-Dish Pizza

2 Tbsp. olive oil
4 cups yellow onions, thinly sliced
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
4 cups green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 lb. Italian sausage links cut into
1/2-inch pieces
Basic pizza dough recipe
12 oz. grated mozzarella cheese
2 cups tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. dried oregano
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Over medium heat, add oil to a large sauté
pan. Sauté onions with salt and pepper
for 2 minutes. Add peppers and
sauté for 3 minutes. Remove from
heat and set aside. In another large
sauté pan, over medium heat, cook
Italian sausage for 4 to 6 minutes.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
Divide pizza dough in half and roll into
a 14-inch circle, about 1/2-inch thick.
Press dough into 2 greased 12-inch
deep-dish pizza pans. Sprinkle each
pizza with 6 ounces grated cheese.
Spoon half of onion and pepper mixture
over each pizza. Spinkle half of
sausage over onion mixture on each
pizza. Spinkle each pizza with 1 Tbsp.
oregano. Bake pizzas for 25 to 30
minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and cut into
individual servings.

“Broke DaMouth” Roast Pork Dawn Perreira

4-5 lbs. pork butt or loin
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can tomato sauce
1 can soy sauce (use tomato sauce can)
1 can white sugar (use tomato sauce can)
Oil
In a frying pan, brown pork. Place in slow cooker. Mix together garlic, tomato sauce and soy sauce. Pour over pork. Cook on high (turning a few times) for about 6 hours, until meat is very tender.

1 large won bok (Chinese cabbage), cut into 2-inch pieces
1 pkg. bean sprouts
1 tray fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 bunch watercress, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 large round onion, sliced
2-3 trays of butter-yaki meat or thinly sliced meat
Sauce:
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup mirin
1 medium turnip or daikon, grated
1 lemon
Combine sugar, soy sauce and mirin in small saucepot, on low, for a few minutes. Pour warmed sauce into small serving dishes. Add grated daikon and squeeze some lemon juice into each dish. On a flat electric griddle, fry meat and vegetables in butter. Dip meat and veggies in sauce. Fun to have guests
cook their own meat and veggies on griddle. Serve with rice.
CrabWon Ton

Imitation or canned crab meat
1 block cream cheese
Green onions, chopped
Won ton pi squares
Mix crab, cream cheese and green onions together. Add a spoonful of mixture onto won ton pi and seal with water. Deep fry in canola oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Won Bok Salad

1/2 head won bok (Chinese cabbage) or Napa cabbage, shredded
4 green onions (stems only), chopped
1 pkg. dried saimin (Top Ramen, chicken flavor), broken apart
2 Tbsp. sesame seeds
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Dressing:
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1 pkg. saimin seasoning (Top Ramen, chicken flavor)
Toss cabbage, green onions, dried saimin, sesame seeds and almonds. Pour dressing over and serve.
Grandmother’s MacNut Cookies

1 block butter
2 tsp. vanilla
11/2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda and mix into butter. Add Rice Krispies and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
